Today's mixed bunch

It was a lovely sunny morning (if a little cold( so decided to try and catch the so far elusive coal and long tailed tits. No coals and only one half decent long tail but a few more reasonable blues and greats with a woody and a tree sparrow for good measure.

1. Greater Spotted Woodpecker. Half asleep.


2. Long Tailed Tit. A little to far away for a good shot but my best so far.


3. Tree Sparrow. Quite rare nowadays I believe but there are 2 or 3 large flocks around here.


4. Great Tit. Very kindly perched on a stump in the sun only 10 feet from me.


5. Another Great Tit. Another poser.


6. Blue Tit.

Cheers folks. Been a bit lucky with the weather and the spot is teeming with birds at the moment. There's a treecreeper about as well that I intend to bag soon.

Thanks Martyn, and yes it will be a test. I managed one shot of him but its so blurred it could be anything.

Lovely set, nice to see a sleeping pecker, they are so twitchy round here!

The first great tit is my favourite, all very good though
