Yes
I'd like peoples opions on whether these pictures are to noisy, IMO they are but i'm probally just being picky.

These were shot with a D70s, ISO 200, 1/800s, F5 with a 300mm f4.

100% crops

more OOF then noisy I would say

Are you going to be showing/printing them with those crops? At 100%, yes they are noisy, but if they only form part of the actual image then I really wouldn't be too concerned...

Cheers,
James

It does seem a little noisy for 200 iso, but exposure can also affect noise, also what were these shot on jpeg/raw and what quality?
I tried it with a gentle de-noise and then sharpened the detail and it looked better for that. Wayne

Hi James, i won't be printing from these crops but IMO the orginal looks a little noisy, i'll post it up in a sec.

Cheers Wayne, all pictures are shot in raw.

I've tried putting them through noise ninja but i'm never happy with the way they turn out, they lose to much detail.

I think the massive crop may explain it - love the original!

:agree:

When I looked at the first shot you posted it did look noisy but when you realise just how much it's been cropped it's hardly surprising. The full frame is a rather nice shot. Don't knock yourself out... be proud of it!

Thanks for the praise:)

This wasn't the best example and there are some shots which are not crops which are noisy but i think i'll take everyones advice and stop looking so hard for faults.

Nick.

I agree with what has been posted above, the original is a lovely photograph.

A slight crop here and there is fine however a crop that heavy is bound to introduce noise. :)
