Toshiba canvio external HD for mac

Most external drives will work OK. Most come pre formatted for PC's but Disk Utility will convert them to NFS+. Alternatively most Lacie drives either come as Mac formatted or have a clever utility to detect the OS and format them accordingly.

As far as drives are concerned I have LaCie Freecom and Maxtor on my Mac. All of which have behaved with no problems at all

Hastily looks for piece of wood.

i know all drives have horror stories but 2 brands that ive had major issues with are maxtor and lacie. maxtor throughout the years have had a horrendous reputation. lacie vary depending what drives they put in but i had 2 lacie drives (different models) die in the same week before.

I use 2 Gtech firewire drives, and they have performed perfect so far, but they are not at the cheap end of the market. My Samsung Story USB drive has also been perfect, in fact if I had not got the Gtechs it would have been 3 samsungs.
