Cav was on his way down before he touched Sagan's elbow.
To be fair Demare and Bouhanni both deviated off their racing lines, surprised more didn't go down. Cav was trying to go where there wasn't a gap, Sagan used his elbow to fend him off - Cav actually hits Sagans body and looses control before the elbow comes into play.

A brutal stage today with 2 of the top 5 starters crashing out in accidents.
There are some unwritten rules in cycling and attacking the leader of a tour when he has a mechanical problem is considered bad form.Enjoying the Tour as always- some great racing despite some awful crashes. Can't understand why Aru was castigated for going for it when Froome had a problem a couple of days ago. Isn't a bike problem just a part of racing?
