Tour De France 2017

I think excluding Sagan was harsh.

You can't flick your elbow out when you are that close to the barrier - reckless and dangerous to say the least. Renshaw was kicked out a few years ago for head butting (which was the safest option) and nobody crashed then.
Think decision was harsh but fair.

Just seen it again, Cav was on his way down before he touched Sagan's elbow.
So I think it's the wrong decision to send Sagan home.

To be fair Demare and Bouhanni both deviated off their racing lines, surprised more didn't go down. Cav was trying to go where there wasn't a gap, Sagan used his elbow to fend him off - Cav actually hits Sagans body and looses control before the elbow comes into play.

Apparently it wasn't just the incident with Cav they also took into account an earlier accident he was involved in.

Cavendish was overlapping Sagan as the bunch were angling across the road. He ran out of space. The key moments were before they touched. You can see sagan coming through and across and cavendish moves over but Sagan doesn't straighten. Nasty crash, imagine if that had been Hamilton and vettel!!

If it was Hamilton and Vettel then Bettel would definitely not get penalised!!

Felt for G passing the yellow to Froome but he needs to start stamping his game out.

A brutal stage today with 2 of the top 5 starters crashing out in accidents. :(

That Richie Porte crash looked awful, very lucky man to only have suffered a broken pelvis and fractured clavicle

ouch for porte, froome pushing strong.

contadore reversing...beep....beeep......

Rest day today lots of legs getting rubbed I bet

Looks like a nice stage for the sprinters today maybe Froome will get another rest day just toddling along

In fact tomorrow's stage to Pau looks a bit flat as well.

Enjoying the Tour as always- some great racing despite some awful crashes. Can't understand why Aru was castigated for going for it when Froome had a problem a couple of days ago. Isn't a bike problem just a part of racing?

There are some unwritten rules in cycling and attacking the leader of a tour when he has a mechanical problem is considered bad form.

Thanks Mark. It just seems a bit odd. Imagine the FIA bringing that in as a new rule:)

Yeah you don't kick a rider when he is down unless it is drug cheat contadoor

Lone rider on today's stage 13kms to go and got 44 seconds. Eeeeeeeeee

First big one on the hills today I think sky will open the throttle a bit for sure

Bloody hell, bit of a whipping for Froome today.
Team doctor and anusol to team bus.

Just watched the highlights of a very eventful day.

But the reversals of the penalties of the previous day for two riders taking drinks when they were not supposed to, when it was pointed out that a French rider also took a drink when he was not supposed to, leaves a bitter taste. :(

Froome losing the Yellow jersey seems to have shook the race up. :)

Kittel takes a besting. Today's stage is a monster

Looking forward to it, think this is the day for Bardet to try and get some time over Froome before the time trial.
Probably beyond Aru without a team to help him out on those wicked climbs
