TP resizing....

Every time I try and upload a pic on here it says that the image is too large, or too wide (story of my life, ahem).
Instead of going into MS picture editor and shaving off 1% at a time, is there an easy way to resize an image to conform to the 200kb limit?

edit resize 800 - save - set quality slider =<200kb...sorted

when i try save for web it gives me 2 sizes, large and small and only the pixel sizes available (i.e. 640x480 px for large web page and 448x336 px) no option for kb file size. Ive tried irfan too and much the same. where am i going wrong?

what are the size limits for images in terms of pixels anyway? i can only see 200 kb allowed when i try an upload. If I knew the allowed dimensions i could do it on CS4

ah, I didn't notice you were using MS. Use CS4

Max dimensions are 800 on the longest side unless it's a pano which from memory should be no more than 1000 on the longest side.

edit 1024 for panos

Save for web in PS is a bit annoying when trying to comment on a picture as it strips out the exif so you don't know any settings used.
