TP search disabled

we're trying to find out why some people are having speed issues, search is a huge drain on resouorces so we are taking that out while we do tests.
 
I'm still having speed issues today, it did seem to sort itself out for a while but, been back since yesterday.
 
Ahh yes, I noticed earlier when I was trying to change my sig that the forum kept timing out, I just thought thats the be expected with the amount of members you have. How much ram does the TP server have and what connection is it on ? And do you enable server-side compression, if you have a powerfull server the compression works wonders ;)
