There's no such thing as a central seaside location 
So how about TWO seaside venues? One South and one North. Rather than struggle with one trying to suit everyone - which is impossible.
I agree with the South Dorset coast as having many photo opportunities. How about a pub crawl, er, photo drive along the South Dorset coast from Sandbanks and Studland (nudist beach
), Purbeck, Corfe Castle, Kimmeridge, Lulworth Cove/Durdle Dor, Weymouth, Portland Bill, Chesil Beach, Golden Cap, Abbotsbury. There's lots of quality b&b/guest houses throughout the area.
I'm sure someone will find something interesting to post about a stretch of Northern coastline
