If/when I get it back, I'm going to have to take Ed's advice and limit it to people who have had at least a minimum post count of a few hundred.

Welly that would be a shame if you had to do that. As a complete newbie on here I asked for and got the Spyder and sent it on 2 days after I recieved it. To discount people because of a low post count sometimes means nothing. However, I guess not everyone is the same and thankful for peoples generosity.

Still it appears that the Spyder is indeed travelling again.

Ok, I think how this can work is if when the Spyder is passed onto the next person, I'd like contact details (address, email address) for the person who's getting it next and then if I have to chase up, then I can. How does that sound? Fair enough?

Done my house pc which has a daewoo crt and it was bang on already from the factory settings Going to do my tv at the weekend and my laptop nxt week then will send it on its way

And the phone number. If they do not supply a correct number, no spyder.

You will get 1 call a day, 1 from the last user to say posted and the next time it arrives to say recieved.

I think that with the kindhearted gesture you have shown the least the members should do is confirm to you the whereabouts of said item.

I think that makes sense, if everyone is happy to do that. It's not as if it was a really expensive piece of equipment but it was still 150 quid so not something I'd like to lose And this is not getting at you, pro.wannabe, these things happen! It's just that I'd like to be able to give someone a bit of a nudge if they're holding on to it a bit too long!

Not trying to be rude to Oakey22 in particular but how long does it take to calibrate? Surely if you know you are on the list 'next' you should have all the things you need to calibrate handy so it can be a speedy process.

At the moment it appears that members are being a little cheeky with this fantastic offer. At the rate of monitor 1 day, lappy a few days later, something else a couple of days after that and the great British postal network, you could wait up to 10 days before it arrives for the next member to calibrate their stuff, so for the 30 or so names that are on the list it will take approx 1 year to arrive at the last members desk.

I do agree, i did have everything i needed to calibrate it but my laptop is not charging anymore and dell are sending me a new one which should be here next week. so will be on its way as soon as it does come.

My own opinion is 1 day is sufficient to do what needs to be done.

No one should sit on it and if you need it for other equipment then re join the list

i have to agree with psifox an tiler65, you should calibrate what you have now and be gratefull that you have been given the chance to use the spyder for the cost of postage, and not keep others waiting just because your laptop has stopped charging so your keeping it until then

slightly unfair if you ask me

i am ever so sorry if i have it for about 4 working days, the last person had it for over 4 weeks, think it was closer to 5 or 6, which took a lot of chasing up to find him.

He can copy and paste them to notebook for safe keeping. No need to store them in his personal folders.
