Just wondered if any other Trinity House Calendar Competition winners are on here?

just received my letter for the presentation ceremony, which I would like to attend, but unfortunately its in London and the costs of me and the wife travelling and staying in London make it a bit too prohibitive...I did sort of think that some sort of expenses might have been available, although I suppose they are a charity !!

There are travellodge type of hotels in central london if that helps

Hi Simon,

Yes I received a letter from them yesterday too. As it's midday in central London on a Monday it makes it pretty much impossible for me. Being self employed it would mean taking a day out unpaid. As much as I would have loved to be there the additional cost of travelling up to London would make this a very expensive buffet lunch.

I really thought they would make this an evening or weekend thing. I could have justified it then. I can't imagine many people being able to make this time either. :(

Andy.

Hi Andy,

Just a quick follow-up on this..I emailed Sally Morris at Trinity House last week to explain why I wouldn't be able to attend but so far haven't received a response, I've contacted her a couple of times in the past too without receiving any response ???

Hi Simon,

Yeah I emailed her some words to accompany my calendar photo and also a couple of questions and never had a reply. Fairly disappointing really.

I must email her to say I won’t be able to make an in-hours presentation too.

Andy.
