Yes
just browsing the web and hadn't come across such blatant theft in all my life before... so i thought i'd share. :nono:

 I don't get it?

Is it because the photos all have 'iStock' embossed on them and is it illegal or something!?

Not trolling here, just confused .

yes the istock watermarked images. Surely watermarked for a reason aren't they?

oh dear, they are the watermarked ones you see before you buy - shall we dob them in?

Ah OK, I think that I was being a bit dense before .

You mean that the 'iStock' images were directly lifted from their website, without permission. I just assumed that they had been purchased from there and that they offered a discount for featuring their name on them .

Much the same way as you often see, "Getty Images" printed on the photos that the BBC News website uses :|. Anyway, I see your point now ;).

web designers do use stock images all the time - for instance when i had a site built they just used watermarked stock images to show me where my images would go in the finished product - but to use them on a live site is either very naive or just plain dumb.

madness though isn't it.... i mean it's not as if they couldn't have taken some pictures themselves for their own website. If it was my website i'd have been asking the designers... why have those pictures got watermarks on them? crazy.

they don't mess about do they.... reply from istock....

There was a photo of an ice cream parlour in Brighton or the likes that had a 5 - 6 foot picture of an icecream pasted onto their window with the Istock watermark still visible.
No idea how they had managed to print it so large, would have thought Istock would use low res files for previews and I'd also have thought that the company that made the vinyl decal for the window would have known what copyright was.

I think they'll need to update their location page too...
