Having just spent some time explaining this to someone for the nth time here is a quick tutorial on using ebay's search.
We can all stick words into the search bar so typing
TAMRON SIGMA
into the search bar brings up all sales where TAMRON AND SIGMA exist.
Not helpful if we want to find instances of TAMRON or SIGMA but you can do this by using brackets and commas so here it is again.
(TAMRON,SIGMA)
Now the search will look for TAMRON OR SIGMA.
What if we want to exclude something for example crop lenses. Well the minus operator can do that for us so here we go again.
(TAMRON,SIGMA) -DI -DC
Well that works BUT sometimes the DI part ends up with an extra few characters. In this case we can use asterixs in which case the search will locate anything which contains DI and any other 2 characters (or spaces).
(TAMRON,SIGMA) -DI** -DC
Now for another search, this time for an ORION TREKKER bag. Ok typing TREKKER would work but we could use the full title.
ORION TREKKER
Now that would bring up other items but what we can do is force ebay to think of the words as one string and we do that with speech marks so
"ORION TREKKER"
All of the above can also be linked with clicking on the COMPLETED toggle on the left hand side in order to show completed listings only or the BUY IT NOW toggle.
Doing it using the above allows you to save a particular search as one search title so you could search for lenses for Nikon that are full frame and save it to re-use again.
Hope this helps.
