I was thinking ( never a good idea) that if you cropped about a third off the top of your first one, it would concentrate they eye mor on the area wher the stem meets the flower.
Hope that makes sense!
I think if no2 had been sharp ( I know that you have done that by choice) it would be much better for me anyway.

I absolutely love #1 as it's slighly more unusual than the regular flower shots you see, and works really well for me.
#2 doesn't really do it for me - I guess it's because it's mostly OOF

Thanks Charlie and Cheryl....I guess the dof is just tooooo extreme in #2 Worth a pop though and I quite like it still

an interesting angle John... prefer the first one, the DOF works that bit better for me.

I like the unusual angle, the composition and the black background of the first one. Very artistic
