I am posting this with the permission of Richards wife and because I know Richard not only has many friends on here but also many admirers of his quality work.
Richard became ill whilst fishing at the weekend with what we now know was a heart attack. He has had an op and is in hospital in good spirits. They are hoping to let him home tomorrow to start an anticipated long journey to recovery.
I am sure many people on here would like to, as I would, send best wishes to Richard and his family for a speedy as possible recovery to not only a great friend but a true gent and top photogtapher.

I live close to Rich and we recently met for lunch and a few beers.

Please pass on.my best wishes and let him know that I still owe him lunch when he is up to it!
