okay,i've been using photobucket to upload my images to TP for some time,but i've recently noticed that they are not like they should be..ie:they look darker and softer on here than they are/should be.so i've opted to use flickr..but the only problem i seem to have is when i copy and paste the images URL to TP,there's a link instead of the image,so my question is ....is there a way to get the image to appear instead of a link?

I know you've said you are going to use flickr but I thought you might be interested in Pix.ie instead - mainly because it has a 800 x 640 size which saves you having to re-size.

might be a daft question.. but you are pasting the URL and not the HTML code aren't you?
 
had the same prob with flickr , couldn't get the pic to show, so I now use photobucket...lol

Do you use firefox?

If you do, then the easiest way by far is to google 'greasemonkey' and the 'allsizes+' script. It automatically creates bb or html code that not only puts the pic in (in any of the standard flickr sizes you choose), but links it to your flickr. :thumbs:
 
okay..this is what i'm doing...

i click on the thumbnail,then when the image appears larger,i click on all sizes..highlight the URL,right click and select "copy",then click on the "select image" tab (little square thingy with mountain etc..),then paste the URL into the box.

is that what i should be doing?

which url are you highlighting? the one in the address bar of your browser?

edit - click 'quote' on my post above to see which link i have used ;)


scroll down the 'all sizes' image page and the url for the actual image is underneath Stan. Oh yeah, and you wil have to make sure you haveopted for the right size, as the few I have looked at are either bigger or smaller than forum 800pxs... easier to upload them at 800 or include links to bigger images and use the 500px offered by flickr
 
hmm, sounds right...ok, when pasting into the little image box, are you pasting over the http:// that is already there, or leaving it? that can stop images showing because what you actually get is two http://'s in the link....

try posting a pic here, then i can look at your post in edit mode and see if there is anything obvious.

if this comes out okay,then i think i've sorted the problem...for some reason,when i paste the URL into the box..there are two "http://"'s there :shrug:

its because there is one there as default...either make sure its highlighted when you paste, the paste then over writes it. Alternatively delete the one that shows in the box before pasting.


and DOH, I realise you took backslash out do it would show as normally.... :bonk: My Bad
