This poor little b****r has just been mauled by my cats in the back garden, I have no idea where it came from...

We are calling the RSPCA, any idea what it is?

Dont think so, Ive given it a lookover, its had a quick waddle around. Think the cats just scared the crap out of it :D

Wonder if it just fell out of the sky? There is seriously no way it can get into the back garden from a field or anything

You would be suprised how a partridge can get places you didn't think were possible!

The are pretty hardy creatures, will probably be flying in no time if you can get it back outside and free form disturbance for a little while

I would say bring it down to a man in Heachem that takes care of injured birds/ducks

Ill get the cats in and try putting it outside for a bit :) Thanks

Put it out of its misery and have it for dinner.

Beat me to it. Thra' it's neck, hang it for a few days - oven. Job done. Yum Yum!!!!

LOL. It's a Red Legged Partridge - another species introduced into this country, and one which is thriving in comparison to our native Grey Partidge which is now in serious decline.

He had a flying fit inside, so I put him outside, and off he went :woot:

YEY!!
Small birds like that often get schnackered and just need a chill and refuel.
Glad the lil fella is all ok :)

I don`t like game that has been hung, much rather have it fresh.A partridge would make a nice change for Saturday dinner though.........

We think he flew into next doors fence

And stop talking about eating him :(

250 (ish) mile round trip and you were being serious.
Hmmmmm.

If it was a dodo it would be worth it. :D

But red-legged partridges are very common where I live (the wilds of Cambridgeshire) and as an introduced species that's seeing off the natives I wouldn't bother! They're very pretty though...

Purely as a matter of interest, why was it ***URGENT***?

I mean, the oven obviously wasn't on :)

In the oven as a starter.........:D

You said i was being serious?
I don't need to prove that, I know I said it.

Were you or were you not being serious about suggesting a 250 mile round trip for an injured partridge?

Because your two posts suggest that you were. So either you were serious, or you were intentionally causing disruption in the thread.

Sorry, who's causing disruption to the thread? hmmmmmmmmmmmmm who keeps trying to catch me out? hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm YOU.

Do you think you have the right to intergate me on a forum? from something you think i was being serious about?
