US cars - open thread

I quite like the look of the estate (station wagon, I suppose!) version of that but am more than happy with what I have so haven't looked too closely for one.

Hi, the estates are nice, but there is no official dealer support anymore around here. Service and repair is done by specialists, the nearest one would be 25mls. for me.

So, it is easier for me to own Mercedes cars ... ---

First time I've looked at this thread..went unnoticed. I don't imagine most on here see US cars hence not many contributions other than yours. I feel like I'm imposing here but....:)

I took these when I was in the US. Mount Scott, Oklahoma.

Thank you, John! (y) Me and my cars were feeling a little lonely ... ---

Hoping (but not really expecting too much!) there are a few at our local show next weekend. There will be plenty of classic and important cars along with plenty of bikes as well as some steam but American cars are a little rarer over here (at least, they are in the South West!)

Hi, 1)American cars are quite rare here, too. In the 90s there were many dealerships, but many have closed down over the years ...

2) the cars are the stars ... - I do not have enough for daily postings, so I show 2/week:

A pair of Chevy 3100 pick-ups, one of which was slammed to the ground.

And I couldn't resist an interior sh(?)o(?)t of a Corvair - can only guess that the passenger felt very unsafe at any speed!!!

Oops! Missed out the 1940 Chevrolet that was beside the '57!

Pretty sure you've shot and shared that '57 before, Immo. Not complaining though!

Hi, I will show all car pics I took at this event over time here.

This was the last dedicated U.S. car event this year in my region.

There may be a few U.S. cars at the Schwetzingen Classic Gala in September, though.

Unusual for a '57 to not have the inserts between the trim sections of the rear panels but I rather like the different look! It might be that feature that made me think I recognise this car from previous years.

Hi, there is another 57 Chevy in my region. It is light blue. But it did not come to this event.

One of our opposite neighbours' sons has a penchant for American cars and his latest is what appears to be a '67 "Eleanor" Shelby 500 GT Mustang. Pretty sure it's not what it appears to be though! Looks good from far but close up, it's far from good (IMO)! Shut lines are poor, some lights are plain wrong, vents are blanked off and the list goes on.

Looks pretty at a distance though so grabbed a few shots. SOOC and I'm well aware of their failings!

Very nice set. Lovely colour.

How do you find all these cars ?..:)

Hi, I go to car meetings in my region (around Frankfurt/D) advertised on the net. There are not enough events for daily postings, so I post twice a week ...
