Can anyone recommend a cheaper USB Dongle than Panasonic's own one at 80 odd pounds, seems a bit steep, and where to get one.

I just got a new Panasonic TV with all the bells and whistles and would like to connect wirelessly to my computer to get the full benefit from the telly. I have a Sky wireless router in my backroom so hopefully I can connect to that.

mobile internet/wifi/other?

My main computer has a adsl wireless router from Sky, which can connect to phone and laptop. New tv can get internet if I get a wifi dongle for it to connect to my router.

ah right.. id think that there is a list of compatible dongles published by the TV manufacturer. it may not be able to communicate correctly with every device.

I think the specific software driver will be already written into the the TV motherboard.

I'd suggest that only the OEM would work and not bother with 3rd party hardware in this instance.

I doubt your TV would have an ethernet network RJ45 port, maybe worth a quick look. If so, just run an ordinary network cable to your router if its convenient.

TV does have a port for a ethernet cable, problem is the phone line and socket are in another room so getting the router next to tv would mean a pretty long cable. I have just ordered a netgear network WNDA3100v2 now on Netgears list of compatible Panasonic tv's List here if anyone's interested from Amazon at half the price of Panasonics own one. Reports it seem a breeze to install.
