Yes
I heard someone say the other day that an
'ols fashoned' tube style (like TV) monitor is more true in colour representation
than the new lcd type monitors.
the reason they gave, something to do with the RGB of the old tube types.

are they talking out their R'ses ?

If you went back a few years than this could be said to be true. However with modern quality displays, properly calibrated, I would disagree.

In fact I can remember trying to calibrate CRT displays and having one hell of a problem trying to get them any where near to calibration.

CRT displays had several problems one was the amount of heat they put out the other was size. I had an Dell badged 21" display. It was huge, weighed a ton and acted like a central heating radiator.

thanks for that.
the size thing is the main issue, and just to mention i won't be getting into all that calibrating i'm affraid. I'll take a new tft then and get used to what the screen looks like comapred to the print out. might sound tight, but thats me.
