Managed to finally get a Velbon Ultra LUXi F

Needed a lighter more easily carried tripod and these are by far the nicest unless you pay silly money.
Might change the head to a nice light Cullmann ballhead that I have, will be great to finally leave my old Manfrotto 055 CB at home

Took a while, but got one in the end, far cry from when Jessops were doing them for about 50 quid

Never understood why the replacement had smaller diameter legs, suppose it was to lose a few grams

Pleasure sharing over now:)
 
Excellent tripod - I've been using one for several years as my travel tripod. Mine is on its last legs now, need to replace it! Where did you source yours from?

Just arrived and surprised just how light and transportable it looks and feels

4 way pan head about to be changed to my smaller ballhead, do wish these all had a standard screw thread. Got to find the 1/4" to 3/8" converter that i know I have somewhere or other

Think this might be getting some use very soon and so much easier to carry than my old Manfrotto 055CB although obviously not quite as sturdy
Compromises have to be made, but still rigid enough judging by the quick twisting and vibration test I just gave it
