exactly.. you can print a 36x24 froma phone camera....

But seriously.. its a 15mp camera with a resolution of 4752 x 3168 .. thats a lot more than my 1dmkIV and I can print posters like that and bigger
 
Ive printed a 30x40 from a 50D, so yours should be fine also.
 
Of course that also depends if and how much you are cropping it.

Even if you do crop a lot you could use a resizing software such as Perfect Resize to get it up to the required size (I use it often and works better than the standard resizing algorithms used by Photoshop).

As a general rule i only ever crop to the ratio of the original picture (in this case 3:2). Even then I try to crop as little as possible and if I did crop lots from a picture I would think twice about large scale prints
