Volume in win XP

Hi

Ive got headphones plugged in. Ive got the slider under the speaker icon in the systray on its lowest setting, any lower and its mute, in media player Ive also got the volume slider down on about 10 out of 100 and still the volume of the annoying wndows dings etc are too loud. Is there anywhere else I can set the volume to a lower level to start with?:bang:

There should be an advanced volume control in control panel /sound or similar with sliders for various input levels. Sounds like you need to lower the one for wave sound or whatever its called.

Not used XP for some time now so can't find exact locations for you but it should be in there somewhere
