VR working or not

I have just bought a Nikon 70-200 f2.8 VRII. Is there any way of checking that the VR is working as I'm not seeing any slight picture shake which I did when I had a Canon 28-135 VR lens
Thanks
Dave

If you can get a sharp shot at 1/15 @ 200mm it's working as it should be, the VR is incredibly good on this lens.

You should be able to hear VR engage after focussing. It's a very faint whining kinda sound.

Just take 2 shots, with a nice slow shutter speed, one with VR on, and one off. You'll see the difference.

err isn't that what its supposed todo.;)

Simplest way is to zoom to 200 handheld, with vr off, then while looking through viewfinder switch vr on, you will see a big change .

Just remember, you have to keep the shutter half pressed for a few seconds to allow the VR to work.

Thanks Guys, appreciate your help will now check out your suggestions

On my old 70-300 VR you could hear and feel the VR working. You could also see the image stabalise a bit in the viewfinder.
