W7 Windows maximising

As I move a minimised window around in W7 and the top of the window goes near to the top of the screen the window automatically maximises!!! Is there any way to stop that happening? I have searched everywhere I can think of but cannot find a solution.

We can do this to enable the keyboard actions and disable the mouse actions:


1. Please go to “Control Panel - Ease of Access Center”.

2. Go to “Make the mouse easier to use” and check the item “Prevent windows from being automatically arranged when moved to the edge of the screen.”.

3. Then go to “Make the keyboard easier to use” and uncheck the item “Prevent windows from being automatically arranged when moved to the edge of the screen.”.


After applying the settings, if you drag the window to the edge of the screen, it will not be “auto-maximize”; and you can use the function with the hotkeys (Win+Up, Win+Left Win+Right,etc.)."

Thanks a lot for that, I must have been entering the wrong search terms. I just searched for it again and found a few queries and replies.:rolleyes:

Aye but if you keep reading folk are saying it doesn't work.

Apparently the OS was designed to maximise and that is why neither of the solutions stays working after a reboot.

It's all there in your link if you keep reading down to the last few posts.
 
:) I changed the mouse use option. It worked fine and it was still OK after a reboot, still OK today
 
Worked fine, always annoyed me, many thanks.
