Yes
loads of notice, its not til december!

is anyone else planning on attending to cheer on Marcus, Miko and Matt?? (can you tell i work for ford...)

im booking my tix this week, for the whole weekend, roughing it in the back of the foci and attending all i can, gonna be a sound weekend and amazing for photographs (no matter what gear you have, i only had a 85mm prime last year!, my friend only had a fuji S5500 and we both got some ace shots!

heres some from last year to wet your fancy...

here

i'm considering going this year, after a couple of years away from it. It's never been the same since they messed about with the format and brought in the silly spectator stages.

kielder and grisdale were the real test,

Your an Msport dude are you :naughty:

sadly yes, im an msport prole...

i did the friday last year but somehow i felt like i was leaving to early so this year im doing all 3 days, it was ace last year, i found the most amazing sweeping bend that allowed me to be 2 metres from the cars as they came nose in at about 100mph, awesome stuff, especially when it rutted and the later cars kept getting caught out.

cant wait. i agree its not the same, i remember way back when it started in chester (the year everyone ended in the same scotish ditch and everyone hit the same tree stump!) that was awesome, especially for spectating

the mid wales stage were easily the best from the footage ive seen, shame they're gone, but theres some awesome stages still in it!

yup, I was brought up on the Lombard RAC rally, being chester born I attended a great many stages.

I was also in in attendance when the old ford motorsport team had their final team photo and Malcom was still driving a Michelin pilot escort cosworth, with Ari Vat, mikki biasion and delecor amongst others in the works cars.

Stages aren't the same anymore, little oiks in bibs think they have power and keep you 30 feet from the corners and don't even get me started on the police!!!

Don't think it's everyones cup of tea for a meet, freezing cold and dodging stones as the car passes with a grands worth of camera in your hand takes commitment........thinking about it.....sounds like a laff :D

in this modern day sue culture things are gonna change really, from the good ol' days!

i generally find if you keep away from the specator areas and walk off down the stage to less marshalled points you can get as close as you can, just make sure you do it safely and keep away from the outside of bends! also make sure you have an escape route!

i'd be tempted to come up, i went to the special stage a few years back and that was pretty impressive. how much are the tickets?

I went 2 years ago, and the price for 1 stage ticket was £20.

A bit steep if you ask me, and its one of the reasons its staying in south Wales
(easier to manage the stages, so they can get as much money as they can).

I'd love to go to a Rally but weekends means overtime and more money so I have to settle for TV coverage. That and the rally stage set up at Goodwood FOS. Roll on Saturday, can't wait.:) :D
Where abouts in Ford's do you work, I didn't know they had anywhere near Cumbria. I work at Ford in Dagenham. So yes I'm cheering on Ford too. Really hope, Marcus can haul in a few wins and Loeb has some non finishes. It's about time a Ford driver and Ford took the Championships again.

I'd much rather spend lots less money watching older cars rally. I have a thing for NA engines and MK2 Escorts. Can't beat it! :D Have been up to Epynt miliary range in Wales quite a few times with the BF, and to the Wye Dean rally. We're off to a rally day near Bristol in a couple of weeks. Can't wait! Just need to get that telephoto first :)

Pah, old school escorts can't compare to the real monsters of the rally world

Group B cars are where the real rally stars are

what you up to in dagenham?

I'm a press toolmaker. We build some of the new press tools that produce car panels. Currently working on the next generation Mondeo due out early next year. Previous to that was press tools for the S Max and Galaxy.

At Goodwood Festival of Speed you get the lot Mk1&2 Escorts, Group B RS200, Rallycross cars, Audi Quattro. Plus they have Paris Dakar Land Rovers and Trucks seeing them fling around in the dirt and launching off the humps just has to be seen. Hopefully I'll get plenty of photos on Saturday to share.

Hehe, two years ago the wife insisted coming with me to the Snowman rally even though I said she wouldn't enjoy it. Two mile trek into the stage, quick mini blizzard,

"when does this finish?"
"only another two stages to go dear, say 5 hours" :D

Will Roger Clark in the Escort be driving..:geek:

How can ya tell its a long time since I have been to watch the rallies.
