4x battery's
tri pod
remote
len's cloth
and camera of course
spares len's or 2
torch (night time )

i thought it might be a intresting start to a new topic

thread no 1 in a new topic yipee

Camera, 2 lenses, tripod sometimes, remote, iPhone and earphones :)

Lowepro backpack with camera, 2 lenses, polariser, ND110, grads + holder, cleaning tissues & alcohol, cable release, spare battery.
clothing - polo shirt, thin Regatta fleece jacket under a waterproof fleece lined ski jacket. lovely in this weather and of coarse a tripod.

As much as I can carry,if I don,t have it with me you can be sure I need it:lol:

General - 17-85mm, nifty 50
For wildlife - 50D, 100-400mm &/or 500mm 4.5
Macro - 50D, 100mm 2.8, 430 ex

My Canon 40D, with my walkabout lens. Nothing more nothing less. That is untill I get a bag then everythng is coming, :)

My current Motor racing kit
- 2 bodies, one with long lens, one with short lens.
- 24-105L & 100-300 f4 EX
- x1.4TC
- 580EX2 flash + several sets of batteries
- spare camera batteries
- CF cards
- lens cloth etc
- monopod
- most stored in an Alpinestars photovest
- windproof/waterproof jacket, gloves and a wooly hat. waterproof trousers if its likely to rain
- camera waterproof equipment.
- business cards, notebook and pen
- bottle of water or drink and something to nibble on.

A bag (GEM backpack, or smaller old Jessop shoulder bag), 40D + 8+4GB, reflector, pen, tripod for low light work when required, remote at night, blower bulb, business cards, and lenses and flashes that I would probably use. The list of these is too long, so normally 1-3 get an outing. It normally comes down to 3-10 kg.

P.S. I think 4 spare batteries is an overkill unless you go to a remote island for a week.

Out Hill Walking:
EOS450, no grip, 3 batteries, 3 4gb sd cards, Kit lens, maybe Sigma 10-20, Pola. Filter

Photo Walk.
As above plus ND/ND Grad Filters kit, EF-S 55-250, Redsnapper Tripod,Cable Release
(plus if I feel like it, EOS-3 35mm, 28-105 lens and a bag of velvia/delta 100)

come on guy's :lol: as much as i love the comment's i want to know what you carry

might give me a reason to buy some new kit :naughty::naughty:

I could be very dangerous for your wallet so I'll just say 5DII and "lens of the day" (tripod if it's a TS-E lens).

Bob

I don`t take four batteries, the rest you`ll have to guess.............:D

Tough one...

Depends where really. Somtimes I'll take everything I can, other times (like the christmas market in Manchester it was just my Olympus OM2 and 50mm (film camera!)

It is tough. Depends on what I'm photographing. Street walkabout is:

Nikon D300
Nikon 28-80mm G
Nikon 35mm

General purpose walkabout is a bit more:
Nikon D300
Nikon 28-80mm G
Nikon 35mm
Nikon 55-200mm
Nikon 10.5mm Fisheye
Tripod
... maybe a lensbaby too because it's so light.

Before Christmas I'd have rarely taken the 35mm off the camera. Bought the 28-80mm since and love it. It's the cheapest, sharpest, smallest lens I've ever seen. First lens that beats the nifty 50 for bang for buck in my honest opinion.

Currently i can squeeze into my Kata R101,

5DmkII + 24-70 f2.8L
70-200 f2.8L
50mm f1.2L
17-40 f4L
1.4 & 2x TCs
580EXII + Gorrilla Pod SLR zoom
Spare batteries
Wireless flash trigger

That lot pretty much goes where i go :), the 17-40 is a new addition but the rest of it is always with me :).

D300 + 11-16mm, 35mm & 50-150mm...filters, batteries, CF cards and sandwiches...any munchies that will fit in the bag generally.

daily kit... (ugh)

2* d300
4* EN-EL4e's
17-50 2.8
80-200 2.8
50 1.4
2* sb600
CPL for 17-50
earplugs,
notepad,
sandwich bags, (quick fix waterproofing)
insulation tape,
sharpies,
ballpoint pens,
model releases,
loads of AAs,
foam sheet for snoot
small selection of gels (cto, green correction, few effects ones)
manfrotto nano
brolly
carabiner to clip bag to light stand for weight
cf case
hdd backup
led torch

2* flash stands (the little plastic things)
2* white stofens
1* cto stofen
2* optical flash triggers
cards / flyers
multitool
lanyard (some venues give you passes on dangerous pieces of ribbon or string)
few foam bounce cards and stuff...
remote camera / flash radio trigger (just the one. CLS is the way forward, but if I need to use radio, the other flash can sit on an optical trigger)
few other bits and pieces...

in lowepro magnum. changed layout etc a bit since http://i.imgur.com/BudIL.jpg

some stuff I don't take the nano and brolly. Some stuff, I put on the extra side pockets which each live stuffed with a sb24, radio triggers and cables and batteries.

If I'm going out shooting for fun, I usually rock about on one body and the 50 1.4, nowt else needed...

3x SB 900

1m dia Folding Diffuser/Reflector

All other jobs, I take everything in a big Peli case, including laptop and BGAN satellite dish.

For a general walkabout, one camera and one lens (i.e. the one on the camera.)

If I know I am going to be doing something specific, I'll take the appropriate kit.

for a general walk about

1 body ( fm2n )

Gibbo..

90% of the time:

Gripped 1000D
50mm f/1.8
17-85mm
70-200mm f/4
2 flash guns+ triggers
Cleaning stuff
extra batteries and filters

10% of the time, just the body and one lens.

I've always taken the D90 out for general walkabouts with the 18-105 kit lens. I'm selling that to my sister though so I guess I'm gonna have to lug some heavier kit around with me from now on. Or I could just borrow the wife's D40...

I take...

Lumix GF1 with 20mm f1.7 'Pancake' lens attached.

14-45mm lens and a manual focus lens or two.

Monopod or nothing for taking pics of stuff while walking about.

Tripod if taking pics of specific things like flowers.

As little as possible.

I mostly wander round with the Canonet in my pocket (I'm not that pleased to see you, really) and spare film.

If I don't think that's going to cut it I'll have the D90 and kit lens with me.

For sport the D90 and a Sigma 70-200 f/2.8 come with me.

The only change to that will be I intend to get a spare battery for the D90 and also a bigger memory card so I'll keep the smaller with me for back-up.

Given how much some of you carry I wonder how you ever get out the house!

what is your basic kit you take out when walking..............my basic kit is ...........

these posts, though interesting, will not help a newcomer by reading through tons of [good] ideas

I felt your post was to find a "List of things to take" for a BEGINNER

* camera
* lens for walkabout
* set of close-up filters - flowers
* polarising filter
* lightweight tripod
* lens cleaning softcloth

etc etc - like you would find in a "Hill Walking Guide" equip list

then somehow the post could be added/deleted a bit like "Wiki" so we end up with one basic list -- just a thought...

OK, here goes

Camera (Duh!)
1 lens. I choose that based on what I hope to see, usually it will be my 300mm F4
Spare memory card, spare battery. (Maybe a couple of each)
1.4x convertor if I take a telephoto lens.
Beanbag
CF Tripod plus appropriate head.
Camera rain cover
Chocolate

My walk abouts are usually long and up in the hills, I don't think I have just walked about snapping pics, I always go out with the aim of a specific location in mind.

But, my bag usually contains...

D90
Tamron 17-50
Tripod
SB-600
1.8m TTL flash cord
Cokin GND filters (1,2 & 3 stop)
Wireless remote
Spare memory card
iTouch (For DoF tool, music and games during long exposures)
Phone
Moleskin and pen for notes
Sharpie, for when you need to write on anything ;)
Food & water
Chewing gum
Carabiners to attach stuff to my bag
Head torch and hand torch
Spare batteries
Cleaning stuff, lens cloth
Lighter
Thick plastic bag for sitting on

If its cold/wet...
Extra gloves to put over my fingerless ones
Extra socks
Waterproof cover for my bag
Thin ultralight travel towel
Couple of plastic bags for wet stuff

Which all fits snuggly in my Crumpler Half Photo bag.

Think that's just about everything :lol:
