For the last few years I have been in a battle with landscape photography as I just can't get it right. So much so that I now avoid it like the plague.

Thing is:

  1. I love looking at really good landscapes, and
  2. I'm off to Australia in April/May and really want to capture some of the experience

So, I was wondering if anybody could point me in the direction of a decent "how to" book. I really want to get better at this bit of the hobby, especially as the Mrs likes it too, but I'm struggling to get anything half decent.

If anybody in the West London area fancies a days togging and cares to give me a guide, I'll be willing to pick up the tab for petrol and lunch during the day!

Cheers,
Steve

"Creative Nature and Outdoor Photography" (Paperback)
by Brenda Tharp

one of the best............!

What do you struggle with? Is it the technical side, finding compositions and subjects or what?

I'm quite happy with the composition, I'm just not happy with the results. I have perhaps one or two images I would say were "good", but I get much better results with wildlife & portraiture.

I'll have a good look at a couple of the books mentioned.

And believe it or not, Uxbridge has some great modern buildings, and I'm not that far from either the City (where I work) or the Buckinghamshire countryside.
