Hi all,

Im looking for a suitable super duper lens suitable for studio & low light
photography.

I have a Sigma 70-200 Ex Dg Hsm jobbie but need something else for small
areas such as living rooms etc.

F2.8 is also a must for low light stuff without flash.

I quite fancy a Sigma 24-70 so if anyone is selling a good one please let me
know.

Must be suitable for a Canon 1dmkII & a 450d which is in my bag as a spare.

Thanks in advance.

For a portrait lens in that that price bracket, I suspect most people would point you towards the Canon 85mm f/1.8 - can't comment myself yet as mine only arrived this morning!

I thought about one of those but at home I find im struggling for space with
the 70-200 for full body shots.

In that case have a look at either a 50mm 1.4 or possibly a 35mm - with your budget you are going to get much better value with a prime than a zoom (although that does depend on whether you could adjust to using a prime).

The Tamron 17-50 2.8 can be bought new via ebay or one stop digital for under £300.
These will be grey imports but unless that is an issue for you, these deals are very good.
I've been debating buying one for a while but I have decided to wait for the new VC version that is due for release.

I have a Sigma 70mm f/2.8 which is a cracking lens and is also a macro. The other option is of course the nifty fifty!

Sorry, I put this in the wanted section hoping someone would sell me
something suitable

But it turned into a conversation, not a wanted thread :)

£400 to spend now guys.

Also, can anyone advise what lenses will NOT fit the 1dmkII as I tried to
use a 17-85 Ef-S Usm & it wouldnt fit

50mm prime is looking good so what shall I spend the change on?

Update.............

Thinking about purchasing a Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 & a 50mm prime.

Any reasons for not buying these or would you consider this to be a wise
choice.

Thanks for you patience
