ETA: sorry for going off topic on your thread OP!
whats the exif for these photos?
I tried doing this earlier this year with litter success. I was always able to see the bottom of the bowl that the water was in. What was your setup like for these - could you post a photo?
No problem, all tips are good. I'm currently trying to get the colliding water droplets. Timing and luck seem to be VERY important factors.
Thanks for the tutorial AshMashMash - http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=208624
This got me started - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fwExpFDUC9Y
I did this using a paint roller tray filled with water, camera mounted on a tripod. Then suspended from a tripod I had a bag of water with a small hole in it to give me a nice steady flow of water droplets.
To get that colour blue, I set my camera white balance to tungston. The scene was lit partially by ambient light and on camera flash. The colour was pure fluke!!
Stupid question alert!!!! I take it an off camera flash is definitely needed for this?
someone has been reading Digital SLR magazine ha ha... looks fantastic though much better than my attempt. Well done
