I don't think I am a professional or anything, but I was wondering how you make a watermark for pics?

In photoshop I generally draw/write something then save as a brush so that you can alter placement, colour, opacity, texture etc to suit each image.

XnView is more versatile and easier to use than IrfanView for this.

If you try it, it's: Tools > Batch Processing > Transformations > Image > Add Text (or Watermark, for an image) etc.
