WCMUT....what cheered me up today

There is cheering on both Mackam & Geordie fronts today, the Smoggies (Middlesborough) failed again at getting back into the PL. I am disappointed Sunderland have done so well this season, was hoping for an up and down year, shame.

When they go promoted last year, one of the jokes at work was they will last 3 seasons! Autumn, Winter & Spring, but they have proved us wrong.

I'm watching or listening to every game involving Spurs (my team) and West Ham.

Great wit re 'the seasons',btw..lol

It's Middlesbrough not Middlesborough. No mention of the cheats from Southampton then.

Serves your right for watching that crap!

Something annoyed me a week or so ago - (as usual,) it was me! I'd completely forgotten to arrange my bike MOTs in plenty of time... Pinched Mrs Nod's to slip down to see the chap who does them for me to arrange the 3 tests ASAP - today (1 bike) and Thursday (the other 2).

WCMUT was the first one sailing through.

Mildly annoying that when I was dressing to get the thing down there, it was dry but I left home in very light drizzle which developed into heavier drizzle 200 yards up the road! 100% my fault for not sticking proper 'proofs on rather than the Kevlar/denim jeans.

Sods law can always creep out of the woodwork and bite you in the posterior.

Nothing to beat yourself up about!

The amount of time I've done that. I ended up buying a lightweight set of waterproofs and kept them under the rear seat on my 'Blade.

Luckily, it's only a couple of miles each way to the garage so even getting soaked wouldn't have been a massive deal.

Storage on the Bobber is... limited, although I can strap on a seat bag and a pannier but had taken them off so he could get at all the relevant parts to see them properly!

Mrs Nod came home with a next year calendar so there's a note in late April for me to extract digits and get the MOTs organized well in advance (for a change!!!)

Today's CMU was the other 2 sailing through. One did have to make a slight tack because the front brake light switch (which worked fine a couple of days ago!) needed a squirt of switch cleaner to jog its memory but works fine again now.

This was originally going to be in the WAMT thread. Time-wasters with regard to selling our house. We changed Estate Agents, and the new one brought a professional photographer, who did an excellent job. House was back on the market a couple of days later (10 days ago). 4 viewing booked for last Saturday:

Viewing 1 - Think they'd like a new-build!
Viewing 2 - A little too small (fair enough, can't get a proper feel from the online floorplan)
Viewing 3 - Didn't turn up! :headbang:
Viewing 4 - "I could see myself living here!" - Finally came back to the agent on Tuesday; Said they were considering making a offer, then "I think I'd be better off renting for a while, so I can build up a bigger deposit"

2 more viewings on Tuesday Evening:

Viewing 1 - Too small. Family of 4 looking at a 3 bed house FFS!
Viewing 2 - Were very "closed off" and were in and out in less than 5 minutes!

Then, this morning, the last viewers offered asking!

Fingers crossed for you, Marc.

WCMUT was saving more than we paid for entry to the Devon County Show today. Saved 1 1/2 tickets on a single item - a 6" paring knife in a very nice Damascus pattern with a burl wood handle. Might have bought more than enough cheese but it's all wax wrapped so will last months!

The worst thing about kidney disease is that you're not allowed hard cheese - so no tangy cheddar :( :( :(

Hard cheese turns very acidic in the body and makes the kidneys worse.....

Luckily, I apparently have the kidney function of a man in his 20s rather than my mid 60s!

You have my sympathies on the lack of cheese front - I would probably be 1/2 the man I am today without it (and chocolate!!!)

I may treat myself to a small piece from the deli counter - I can't drink either, so I will have it to celebrate Arsenal's league championship. 2 birds, one stone :ROFLMAO:

Moderation has never been my strong point!

A few decades ago I had a couple of attacks of what the hospital doctor referred to as "kidney sand".

The first one was horrible but the second merely very painful. I was told that I shouldn't eat cheese for a while so I didn't, for nearly thirty years. Now I eat cheese but I wash it down with a lot of non-alcoholic fluids and that seems to be OK.

Not being known as a green fingered person ( I kill a lot of stuff!), I have managed to move three large plants and they have not only survived the move but appear to be doing well! Time will tell! :)
