Hi Guys,

Currently I am hosting with Host Gator, however, I feel that their hosting is mega slow?

www.craigberry.co.uk - Is this slow for anybody else?

I used to use them a lot around 6 years ago, and was always happy, so I went back to them. However, this time around I am not too pleased.

I am now looking for another host, preferably UK based, and one that has been around for at least 3-4 years.

Who do you guys use, how have you found the technical service to be, and more importantly the speed?

Ideally the host will have Fantastico so I can get my blog switched over pretty quick.

I use 5quid host and have found them to be good.
They have Fantastico and I have had reasonable email support from them in the past.
 
I've just migrated to Titan Internet who are UK based. Their support has been first class in helping me get up and running on their servers.

Performance is much better than my previous ultra cheap US based hosting company.

They aren't the cheapest out there, but the difference in price only amounted to a few print sales over the course of a year compared to others I was looking at.

Is there a way of checking how fast your website runs?

As at the minute it seems to be running very fast, however, most of the time I would say it is slow.

Painfully for me, although work connection isn't the best.


I use www.ukhost4u.com and find they are very fast. They are not the cheapest but they are reliable, good telephone and email support and their backend control panels come fully loaded.

They are based in Fife and I believe they have a big state-of-the-art server centre in Docklands also.


EDIT: It is now running quite nicely. Either a problem with my connection or they saw this post and tweaked a few things hehe
