website critique sought

Looks quite good to me.....

I did notice under the 'people & portraits' gallery that picture #8 could be missing or maybe a broken link?

Also, have you thought about having your gallery so that it pops out, and displays larger images? I just feel that the small ones arent showing the full quality of the pictures.....
 
Looks very well put together and the galleries run smoothly. My only critiscm is the background colour for the writing on blog, about and contact, might just be my eyes or it still being early but i found i had to concentrate to read the writing clearly with that colour background.
 
Looks very nice to me, I've seen it evolve with the STW feedback and really like the current incarnation, do agree with the comments about having the option to show larger gallery pictures to do justice to some of the shots.

I have thought about displaying the images bigger, especially the portrait ones are pretty small. I was advised on another forum by quite a few people to lose the watermark, so I don't want to make the images too big with no watermark. I might try changing to 'lightbox' style galleries instead though.
 
I'm having a few issues in the galleries. If you click many times too quickly it has that memory effect where it keeps going until all those clicks are finished before letting you go the other way.

I'm thinking it's because of the transition effect being a little too long between photos, makes me impatient and I start clicking like mad! Just noticed the thumbnails don't show up in the portrait section.
 
Ah, it's perfect now! For me it is anyway, much faster navigation to what I want to see :thumbs:
 
Just checked and works fine on the home PC (and looks good with it!), so might be something to do with the works pc where I tried it yesterday.

Cheers Martin, will have a tweak of the homepage - it does say where I am in the page title but not on the page itself.

Anyone tried the latest galleries on an iphone? My ipod touch seems to have trouble expanding the images in the galleries.

Latest version of the site looks great on my iPad Graham....

The only exception being in the galleries, when the lightbox loads there are no navigation icons, you just guess and click on the left or the right side of the image - I knew this, but others may not.
