Well, after a long time (and some swearing) I have finally finished my (re)developed site. After what seems an age now, I am ready to say I have finished... until I decide to make more changes :D

I know it looks similar to the last one but it has far more functionality.

Please can you let me know what you think?

www.jamesoliverstone.co.uk

Many thanks :D

Looks good. I like navigation at the top.

My only comment would be to show maybe only 4 large thumbnails on the page rather than 6. At the moment there seems like a lot of unnecessary scrolling to get to the bottom.

And then make the bottom of the thumbnails and the bottom of the flickr thing line up.

Just my 2c.

What about now?

Looks fine to me but it still looks very 'Gallerific' but I suppose there is not much you can do about that.

I like how ever my only comment is that your logo is too blury.... needs to be a bit sharper than that imho.

Really? It looks fine here... I will check it again when I get home and get on my decent screen

Tell me about it, I need to learn more about CSS I think and then I might be able to rectify that one...

I agree. The logo looks very soft and my screen is bang on, mate.

I found the animation a bit offputting, it seemed very fast and furious, distracting while I was looking down at the images

Overall it is pretty good, however I would lose the nav menu at the bottom, as it is just replicating what is at the top of the screen. There is also a lot of blank space at the top, maybe merge your logo into the nav bar and drop the search box etc to the bottom?

Hi

Neat looking website in general!

It is always hard to get into people taste. If you will receive 20 post you will have 20 different opinions :-)

Few my thoughts:
- I think that top bar is making whole website looks like it is build with kinda READY-MADE free web engine. The bottom navigation bar works better for me.

- Like higher – Logo looks blurry and it dragged my eyes straight away.

- Same thought as higher about animation – Fading could works better like on Calumet website.

- My biggest point is that the website is not strong enough in terms what it should tell me about you as a photographer. I think that you have there to wide range of topics – are you portrait photographer – or sport or Aircraft and stuff like that. I know it is hard to narrow you spectrum but in that state it look like typical – photographic portfolio – not business orientated tool.

Thanks for the comments so far... I should have re-iterated that this is not a business tool, this is my personal site. I have another that I use for my business work.

I will make some adjustments to the logo when I get home and will take another look at the layout

I think it's a great looking site, but it's not very uniform in terms of navigation.
I would keep the right hand module on all pages? but that's just my opinion of course.
I also think that when you hover over an image to click it, it's a bit fiddly having to click on the text?

It's a great site over all though and you should be proud of it.

hey in general its a good solid site - all links lead somewhere, and you have some great shots.

If youre interested check out Zack Arias as he critiques many sites (which the owners ask for) may give you some ideas, he knows his stuff. click HERE

Thanks for that, I shall take a look

im gutted... i was looking at converting my website to this theme also... i dont know if we could wear the same dress lol..

i live it.. and your logo goes well with the site

im looking at a complete overhaul to my website and this theme might be the way forward...

good work :)

Snap! Me too! It is a good theme and that's why I noticed it but I'll need to find something else now that it's going to be so common!

:lol::lol::lol:

Looks brilliant I think! On your blog, I'd like to see an image that makes me want to click through to the rest of the post rather than relying on the words. (I know I havnt explained that too well, brain isn't working at this time of night )

Also, I've never really seen the point in having a list of equipment on websites unless your aiming at photographers looking at the site, potential clients will be much more interested in your portfolio and probably won't know the difference between a Boots instant and a D3! Just me though..

Very impressive: though you need a spell checker:
"Ethan ... he doesn’t like bieng interrupted when Nick Jr is on!"
