Website feedback please

I like the dark backgrounds and the mixture of B&W and colour pics. a nice clean well set out site IMHO

To the OP - I like it - nice and clean and simple. Bit confusing as to why the prices are in dollars when it says you are in Yorkshire though?

You need to put the main content inside a DIV and then centre it. Other than that, basic clean site :)

Same goes for yours Jooo

Its nice and clean, and side from the $s comments already raised I think it very dark. I think (just my opinion) that light and airy rather than dark makes people stay longer

Looks good, loads fast!! Love the simpleness of it. Only one tiny niggle:

Eyland Images is Matt Dobson, a photographer from Yorkshire, UK.
I studied to be a cameraman in York, but for romantic reasons, found myself living in rural Scotland, and my passion for still photography took over.
I began shooting weddings just over 2 years ago, and I'm still enjoying every moment.

You started this paragraph in the 3rd person, then switched to 1st person. Nout major but something that caught me eye.

Edit - The photo on the prices page isnt loading for me

went for a revisit and the simpleness of it is winning me over.......... off I got to rip my one apart lol!

you are using the vertical space more thn the horizontal, which is sor of opisite to the orientation of most screens

The slideshow on the front page mixes landscape and portrait. the portrait images are half missing on my wifes normal laptop screen

If you use a 1 pixel pin border around the images, then you wont have issues of the website background merging into the image, and distracting the user when the colours in the photo and website background are close

The about me page has a different layout in terms of the image/text than the other pages

Usual comments about addresses and landlines

Content: I assume you would shoot me, if I paid - so get some guys in the portrait section

In my opinion, the production photographs need to be on a site of their own. Wedding clients want to see weddings, and specialist clients dont want to see anything other than the speciality

cant find anything wrong with it. keep it up

Cheers Steve

Thank you! :)

Love it :D Very clean & tidy.

Would anyone mind taking a peek at my portfolio?

Would love some feedback :D

Thanks. :) I like yours too. It's nice and simple and an excellent showcase for your work.

The price is in dollars as I'm moving to New Zealand in November so trying to attract more customers from over there. I'm still getting late bookings for the UK though so didn't want to entirely remove all reference to Sheffield yet. It'll all be a bit clearer once I'm settled in one place but in the meantime I'll have a look at my wording again and try to make it clearer.

Thanks for the feedback.

I'll have a go at that. Cheers. :)

Does the job, nice a quick. Needs to be centred as Hn says, other than that (and I'm not too taken by the green) it looks good. Maybe a tiny bit larger font would be helpful for some people, particularly with it being light text on a dark background.

I'm assuming the dollars are for when you move to NZ?

My wife said the same thing about the font so I'll have a look at changing it. I've only just changed the background colour to green after much faffing with various colours. I couldn't get anything else to look quite right.

Thanks. :)

Hmm, something to ponder on. I wonder if anyone has done any research on that. Personally I prefer the darker colours but if it's costing me customers it may be worth changing.

Thanks for the input.

You're absolutely right about the 'about me' text. Definitely needs changing.

Thanks for the feedback! Good luck with your own revamp. :)

Thanks very much for the feedback.

I'm using Clickpic so quite limited on what I can actually do to the layout regarding horizontal space. I agree with you though so I'll check again to see if I can do anything about it.

I agree about the pixel border on the gallery too. Excellent advice.

I can't really put my current address and landline up as I'm temporarily in someone else's house until I move. Will remember for when I'm settled though.

Will put some more male portraits up too.

Thanks for all the good advice.
