Website name - which has the best ring to it?

Hi all. :)

Well i'm wanting to buy myself a domain name and web hosting for both a portfolio and personal use to display my work, but I can't decide which one to go with! Thought it'd be good to ask a bunch of people who aren't used to hearing/seeing my name to see which they think has the best ring to it! I can't really tell because i'm that used to.

Here are my options so far: (note, i'm a graphic designer aswell as a photographer, so having, so can't really have "photography" in the name!)

www.danwatson.net (rest of the extentions have gone)

www.danwatsondesign.com

www.dannywatson.co.uk

www.danielwatson.co.uk

www.dannywatsondesign.com

Feel free to submit any other ideas if you have 'em!
 
There's nothing wrong with any of them. Don't be put off by .net if you prefer danwatson. Just avoid .biz and anything with org in it. Even .info can work for you - but usually costs a little more. I've lost track of the number of domain names I now have but I prefer the simple names - such as johndenman.net
 
From the above I'd go with danielwatson.co.uk mainly because I know a couple of people who spell Danny in different ways, Daniel however is pretty much spelt the same aross the board? (Just thinking about when you verbally tell people. The easier and most obvious spelling for people to remember the better)
 
danwatson.net is probably the favorite for me so far, i think it just seems alot shorter and punchier than the rest... But as mentioned above i'm worried about going for .net though instead of the more common .co.uk and .com!
 
remember to register the same name with both .com and .co.uk and may be .net too. Then redirect them to the other one. This can prevent potential clients forgetting the whole address and not finding your site.

for ease of remembering, danwatson.co.uk or .com for me
 
I would go with a .com if you want full web exposure.. there are some bugs with google and .co.uk extentions. check out www.v7n.com for SEO and they will guide you on url picking..

danielwatson.co.uk but is the dot com version available as this is normally the better bet or get both. What you will find if someone else has the dot com version they will get people looking for you and vice versa. Always best to get both and have a re-direct on one domain across to the other.
 
I like www.danwatson.net but agree with apkent.. people who have met you or heard your name would try searching for however they heard you referred to.

Since your username is danwatson that would be what people here would try first if looking for your site.

If you use daniel... then think about danniel.. and daneil... as well. The internet is full of people who cant spell.

I have www.surname.org and have had for years, unfortunately my surname has a meaning which puts it in demand so the .net .com etc had gone.
 
I wouldn't worry about having misspellings registered or the list is endless.. If someone types it wrong they wont get to your site.. so they will try to find it another way. If they know it is dan, danny, daniel they will get there by a search etc.

How many domains would you have to register to catch all the possibilities?

.com, co.uk is a good idea though
