It is as you said info about your site and your site is doing OK don't know if you have a "Hit Counter" but It Is a simple way to monitor your site. It counts the number of hits your site gets and the info on the charts are a more detailed account of your site.

So whats the difference between a hit and a visitor

Hits is the number of files a visitor accesses. Don't forget many visitors will be webspiders. I had one from China visiting every minute or so this week :bang:

The stat's he posted do just that. You can see how many hits per month your getting with what you posted- what do you want to know exactly?

If hits is the number of files then what is the files count for:thinking:

Just if it was good really, so can i say my site averages around 12000 visitors a month and if so is this a good figure

12k a month is pretty good, but I would also want to be double checking those server generated stats with google analytics, as people have mentioned a hell of a lot of activity can be attributed to bots, some sites can essentially trap a spider due to their url variable structure and they will get stuck and go around in circles trying to index the site and rack up loads of hits,

google analytics - while not 100% accurate, does takes a lot of things like this into account and leaves you with just the relevant data

Install Google Analytics, very good and free service.

Simple to add to your site and produces stats that you can actually look at and use without having to work out what they mean.

You can Google "Google Anal" or go to this link http://www.google.com/analytics/

Its a great service and the stats are really useful. Its worth remembering though that it only works on the pages its installed on, and it doesn't work if someone has javascript disabled on their browser, so it can count a little low
