i submitted a site to google 2 weeks back and it cant find it yet

how long is in normally before goole finds it and lists it

also where do you submit your's to too

i recently did a site 8 or more weeks back and i cant fidn that either

am i doing something wrong

one site i have

www.vauxhallhull.co.uk is top ranking even over the main dealers when you use the word vauxhall hull
and top 3 when i use vauxhall specialists
and top half when i use vauxhall specialist

which im very happpy with

but where am i going wrong

the site i have been submitting

is www.sparesunlimitedshop.com

and im adding some links on it tonight to see if that helps it out

the site is nothing special at the moment but im working on it

Google engines also don't normal visit unless you ask them and you have to ask them to come back again... feel free if you wish have a look at our page source on our own website...

also I found they treat you better if you have an account with them and ask the bots to visit that way as well
 
your index page has a refresh to your welcome page and this is what you have ON the URL and NO text on teh page wil not help

sorry you have lost me

i think what you mean is

the main url ie www.sparesunlimitedshop.com when loaded goes direct to www.sparesunlimitedshop.com/welcome

i use iweb 09 and it is how it uploads it this what you mean

can you help i normally use for the access to the file

public_html when i uplaod via its own ftp programme

How to write a Robots Meta Tag
Where to put it

Like any <META> tag it should be placed in the HEAD section of an HTML page, as in the example above. You should put it in every page on your site, because a robot can encounter a deep link to any page on your site.
What to put into it

The "NAME" attribute must be "ROBOTS".

Valid values for the "CONTENT" attribute are: "INDEX", "NOINDEX", "FOLLOW", "NOFOLLOW". Multiple comma-separated values are allowed, but obviously only some combinations make sense. If there is no robots <META> tag, the default is "INDEX,FOLLOW", so there's no need to spell that out. That leaves:

as iweb 09 already diverts it to /welcome
do i need to create a new webpage blank then go to the html

and write <META NAME="ROBOTS" CONTENT="NOINDEX, FOLLOW">

does anything need to be done baring this

Google doesnt use META tags to rank, it uses keywords and semantically structured HTML code

Your main page is a redirect which I suspect is the reason it is not being ranked.
Rename the main page to index.html instead of welcome.html and I would all but guarantee that it will get ranked a short time after

On another note, your main page does fail validation

Search engines love web pages which are valid HTML and are also Semantic

It looks like you have used a WYSIWYG (What you see is what you get) editor to create the page so it uses DIV elements instead of Tables for layout which is great news from an SEO standpoint. However you havent got any heading tags (H1, H2, H3) etc and these will help a lot with search engine ranking

In my honest opinion the redirect to welcome.html really wont help with rankings

In fact, I honestly think it will have a negative effect. Its fairly easy to remove the redirect and setup the homepage to be index.html
