website

Site looks nice but usual major problem... there isnt a single clue on site as to what part of the country your in.. in fact anyone visiting your site would have to check its a co.uk domain to even guess your in this country... You need to make it plain and clear on the front page :)

thats perfect as you have it now... tells everyone straight off where you are :)

Just showing you its all there if you look and that was just 2 click to find so you might as well comply with the law in the first place.

not showing all... most of us already know how to get the info.. its also easy to opt out of a uk whois address.. anyways just because its available to find doesnt mean its a good reason to post it on a public forum though.. there is a certain amount of ettiquete that should be used in these matters.

I havent got my address onsite and I aint losing any sleep over it :)

its on my site now...cheers dude!

I wouldnt be badgered into putting it on if I where you.. If you want it on then OK but really.. I doubt it applies unless your a registered company.

If your web site is for business you are required by law to show this info End of
You may only opt out is it is a personal web site and not a business one

Source? I think your talking about the law for registered companies

You might have your web site on a USA host but you are working in the UK and are still governed by UK law and that is you must have your details on your web site as you do on all letterheads and invoice etc.

So you keep saying... Show me the source of your information.. I say "I think" it only applies to registered companies and your saying it applies to all business... can you show me a source to this law please ?

I cant not find the full info BUT take a look here for some of it
OPs it has it all see
2.1 An email, or your website, can have contractual significance.
* On your website you must include your full company name, address (geographic and registered) and email address. The company's registration number and place of registration should also be given. You must also state any professional registration and authorisation scheme (eg the Law Society). If your company has a VAT number, this should be also be stated.

But thats got nothing to do with the OP. your in here telling him he has to ahve his address displayed by law.. I see nothing there that says a business must have an address by law.. he isnt a registered company and he isnt trading e commerce..

Got anything else or is that it?

Aaaaand back on topic ;)

It is a typical Photium site, so there isn't really much to comment on, it does the job and I doubt customers wouldrecognise where the site comes from.

 from an ex Kettering area type.

ITs for ANY one even self employed there is no difference Business laws applies to everyone in business. You can not plead ”I did not know” if your in business its up to you to find out why do you think lots join things like FSB

Personally I'd take your address off your website if you value your security. Unless it's a company address I'd keep it off. If you're really concerned about meeting the law then get a PO Box.

I don't think I've ever heard of anyone being pursued by the law for not having an address on their website. Sounds a bit stupid to me.
