Hi all,

I've been trying my hand at website design and it's all going a little slowly. In the meantime I'd like to get something up and have used a template from Weebly.

I can't for the life of me figure out how to get the Weebly site 'onto' the server (at streamline.net) with my domain name. There are references to changing the A record but I can't see anything like this in my DNS controls on the Streamline interface.

Has anyone got any suggestions as to how I might rectify this?

Streamline have been absolutely awful with me in the past and wouldn't touch them with a barge pole. Sorry to say.

Have you bought a domain? i.e .co.uk/com/org.uk?

Agreed. They also don't give you any DNS controls to speak of really.

All my domains are with 123-reg, who are excellent with domains.

I hate streamline with such a passion, its untrue. Their mysql server was down for 4 days, so my sites were all down. I logged a ticket saying it was unacceptable- as they advertise a 99.99% uptime. They replied saying that service was "optional" and not covered by their guarantee. Never doing business with them ever again.

Touching wood - I have rarely had problems with Streamlinenet and been with them for years. The only time my site went down (apart from when one of my own sites caused it and lots went down though overuse) was when a lot went down in the west country when someone went through the mains cable.

I have no idea what Weebly is but if I remember correctly the "front" page has to be named "index" - I just upload using ftp - either FTP Surfer or FileZiller - whichever is open

Cheers for the replies guys. My first year with them is just finished so I may transfer the domain name to another provider.

Good luck with that too! They may claim the domain belongs to them rather than you.

If you need some hosting, send me a message and I can sort you something out.

Chris
