Yes
I thought here would be the best place to put it TBH.

I raise my hands up high (hyperthetically LOL) and say I'm an amature and will never go pro.

I want a website for my pics, so I can show family and friends, free or very cheap is perferable LOL. Other than watermarking though, is there a way that I can stop my pics being pinched? (Or downloaded via right click?)

NO !!!
If someone wants them they can get them. Just post low res. images.

I've popped this into Computers, Websites & Other Technology for you. It isn't really Business :)

thanks, I couldn't see this section TBH (nowt wrong with the forum, just me, LOL)

can anyone recommend a place I could do a website through?

I don't want to pay a fortune for it, but I do want it to be a seperate website for my stuff that I can have my own domain name.

the script for no right click generally does not work on all browsers, so watch out if you use it

You may want to have a read here first ... http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=79231

If you want to have a go at building the site yourself, I'd recommend something loke Wordpress or Pixelpost, browse the preformatted templates available. they are customiseable and as you gain in confidence and knowledge, the more you can do with them :)

Couldn't you just use Flickr?

I looked at this and have developed a gallery that was pretty much 'right click' and save proof but anyone with the right type of knowledge could bypass it.

No the gallery isn't for sale as I use it for specialist stuff but there is no harm in telling you (as even with this knowledge its still hard to bypass) is that the image is generated through a 'viewstate' key and then a transparent gif is overlayed onto it. I'm mentioning this in the event that a knowledgeable person wants to do the same.

However, as always with photo sites you should be using low res with imposing watermarks.

I would recommend wordpress, so easy to use and there are thousands of themes and plugins to make it better
