Discuss this at length with the Wedding shop, most will throw a hissy at the thought of dresses actually going outside.

Think about how many dresses you will be photographing, a recent job I did was scheduled for 12 Wedding Dresses and 3 prom dresses - she pulled 57 dresses out in the end !

Think about the time it takes to dress each model, a Hairdresser should be on hand all day for titivating as too many changes messes the hair and dress changes are not all that fast. You really need to plan the dresses to models and the rotation.

Be aware that if the models have too many dresses their back will get red and sore. Also make the Shop aware that the dresses need to fit, if they use hair clips at the back of them because they are to big for the model you can't ' Just Photoshop it' .

Advise that the model should not wear a bra that is too small on morning of the shoot because the grooves that the straps make take ages to go.

Oh - Get full payment before getting the camera out of the bag !

I could go on, can you tell I was recently bitten ?

I just did one too and took virually all day to shoot three dresses after it took 2 hours for hair and make up. :)

Outside at this time of year is well and truly dodgy unless it's demo stock and they don't mind the cleaning bill!

Wind and rain won't do an awful lot for the images unless you are going for windswept and interesting :) I can see the scope for Irish Coast image shot with BIG flash but that's honestly not the best way to show off the dresses. The dressmakers usually want to see detail and that means good fashion lighting.

So you can imagine what fun I had in a shop that was about 8x6 metres with 57 dresses !
