Hi all.

My mate and girlfriend are getting married in Sept.

The photographer that they have selected says he wants full payment 6 weeks before the event. Is this normal?

Cheers.

Yes - I ask 25% deposit and full payment a month before. Others ask 6 weeks commonly as well

Cheers

Normal

£150 up front deposit and rest 1 month before...

think about it what happens if the bride or groom dont turn up, you wont get your money then....get it all before the day then if they dont show you aint out of pocket and you can allways give some back if its a no show lol

1/3 deposit (non refundable)
1/3 due 28 days before event
1/3 on production

pleases me and my clients

Yes definately deposit to secure and then balance before the big day
Would you do all the work then to be told - oh we can't afford to pay you etc....

Its the norm

Little tip I was given, if you call it a deposit.. it can be requested back if the wedding doesn't go ahead, unless you've been clear that it is not refundable. A better alternative would be to say retainer or booking fee :)

And yes, definitely the norm. All the other services are paid up front generally, so should we :)

Hope the day is amazing! Congrats!
