A big woohoo! I've had a Nikon 1.4x TC-14E kicking about from last season, and Dean Lewis's fab beanbag as well, but nothing to use them on..

Until now :)

I (stupidly) sold my last 300mm f/4 AF-S last year and missed it terribly - I managed to get another one at a decent price, and will put it through its paces this weekend (I've found Kingfishers!)

I want to do more wildlife this year - something I've really not done much of for the last 18 months. With this lens again, I think my lens "armoury" is looking much more "balanced" from its wide angle "skew" where is it right now

The 300mm f/4 AF-S is one of Nikon's optical jewels - and a great excuse to use that beanbag and a TC-14E that were kicking around Chez Andy for the last few months :)

Congrats Andy, I'll look forward to seeing some nice wild piccies :)

Gary

Thanks :)

Here are a few from my last stint!

Just need to get close enough to the Kingfishers which are titchy- so also am expecting a 1.7x TC (hopefully tomorrow)

Nice-I can't decide if that racoon is just sticking its tongue out at you, giving you the finger as well or if its just bitten its own tongue :lol:

Maybe I'll just wait until you get tired of it or switch to Canon and make you an offer.

Sometime next week sound about the right timeframe?

I do go through a lot of gear

Although with a 70-200 VR + 1.7x TC arriving this week (hopefully) I'm back to my 2006/2007 season lens configuration which - in hingsight - was optical nirvana really for me I think.

wait...........you're going backwards :suspect:

in 2009, you are back to the kit you had in 06-07

300 F4.....I so wish I had one.........:D

I love the spitfire and the racoon ! Absolutely wonderful shots.

They are wonderful shots, no wonder you wanted to get the lens again, i look forward to seeing the Kingfishers.
