Wet summer equipment

My last 3 outdoor events in June have been WET. I rely on a simple shammy leather which does a good job of keeping body/lens from getting water logged but after looking at this Sunday's forecast I am resorting to more technical 'staying dry' measures. Just set up a golf umbrella bungied to a tripod and it looks like it should do the trick for 3 hours out in the rain (as long as it is vertical rain!). Horizontal light but persistant rain is a real menace!!! Bloody summer!

and either a elastic band ir a bit of sticky tape as well. Another good idea is a bit of leg or sleeve from old waterproofs.

Get an adjustable brolly designed for a pushchair, give it a good soaking in water proofing with the stuff you use on tents.
Fit it to the tripod with the brcket supplied & it is fully adjustable.
