I can't believe this lady took the time and trouble to write this letter, or that it actually reached me!. :D

Fortuinately The Post Office used their initiative and sent it to West Mids Police HQ, who looked me up and redirected it, so top marks to them.

Needless to say, she'll be getting a proper copy suitable for framing.

What a superb thing to happen.

Defo send the lady a print of your image.

And can you show us the photo in question? :)

But did you get paid?

kidding ;)

Really sweet...and great when the post office do stuff like that.
Would echo the request to see the pic.

yeah, that really is lovely :D

Incredible it got to you though, well done the post office!

It was this shot which has previously been posted in the bird forum. Actually it ****es me off every time I look at the framing. :D

send her a bill for using the image without permission? ;)
lol

I'd agree with sending her a print of the image as a thank you :)

Very nice letter...:rules:

And not a bad photo Also :D Nice to know people can do something like that off there own bad for nothing to gain.. Human faith restored.

Dave:thumbs:

Ps hope your all well sensay..

+1..

unfortunately for every story like this one, you hear 10 negative stories...

I wish it was the opposite :shake:

That's because people dont usually share the good stories, just the bad.

But did you get paid?

kidding ;).

LOL. Not yet. The press agency contacted me on the arrangement of 50% of all sales, but having had mixed experiences with the press in the past we'll wait and see. ;) I'm not really too bothered tbh.

Nice of her to write and sending a print in return is a very nice touch too.

All shows how great the post Office really are

Great story Cedric, and a generous response, she is probably over the moon by it :)

What a lovely thoughtful touch, and good on you for sending a framed picture. Got to hand it to the P.O. too, a nice story all round

That's definitely a case of well done's all around...

To the old dear for writing the letter in the first place,

To the Post Office for thinking outside the box and forwarding it on,

To the WMP for ensuring it came to you...

And to you - not only for taking an absolute belter of a shot, but being generous enough to send the old dear a proper copy of the shot for framing.

:clap::clap::clap:

Its really heartwarming to hear a story where everything works out well.

No law has been broken. She's purchased a legal copy of the image and then wants to frame it. However, I know you posted in jest :).

It's always nice to see things like this, it warms to heart. I would want to frame the letter, it always nice to receive something hand written like that.

Funny how she pointed out that she was a widow!!!
I think she fancies a Bit of CT's Long Lens :naughty:

Deliver it personally m8 and remember to dig out the old uniform

Well it's funny you should say that - I reckon she's 35 and gagging for it.

The missus just said "Yeah,...dream on!"

It sure is a nice letter, and more amazing is how it got to your mail box

I also have to agree, with Craig on this ...

You could easily make the canvas bigger then clone in some bg.

Good Story!

If she is 35 and gagging for it i would be asking the question..."What did she do with the last one"? :suspect:

:plusone: Can't say it any better than that, but what a lovely story!

Nice little story there, bet you feel well chuffed for getting that letter.
Fantastic photo too!

Oooh... and btw i think that she was insinuating something by putting (widow) at the end of her name :P Maybe she likes a man in uniform

What a cynical bunch some of you are. This started off as such a nice thread, and now I've gotta start bringing the bunny in at night!

Take a picture of it first though! :p

Lovely story and a great image of the Kingy.

I just wonder why she didn't write to you via The Telegraph though?

It reminds me of the joke about the kid who wrote to Santa via the Post Office!! :D

Great Story :)

Heartwarming stuff all round CT.

And it truly does show the power of an image to provide joy, not just to the viewer but to lots of others, including the Tog when feedback arrives like this.

Superb work Cedric. Fantastic shot, and a fantastic bloke.

No need to be quite that paranoid...it's not like she knows where you live

CT was this published in the Metro by any chance? I'm sure I saw this a few months back?
