I love photographing Robins, especially if they are used to people being around, I've had them at Martin Mere land on branches and look straight into the hides to watch me, as if to say 'What's he doing???' Mind you I always talk to Robins when I see them....

Have got two pairs of Robins nesting within about 50 feet of each other in our garden. Some of the fights are spectacular. Thats my photography challenge for tomorrow.

Friday the 13th might be unlucky for some but not for me and the missus.

Out walking one of us regular South Pennine resis when this flew over, an Osprey!

It showed well for nearly half an hour, got loads of shots but mostly at distance, just occasionally did it fly a little closer.

Still a heavy crop but what a beautiful bird to see, a lifer for me and on home ground too, a bonus

Its the first time I've had a Little Ringed Plover on one of the local resis, there were at least 3 so hopefully here to nest

Great to see the Avocets back, and a feisty lot they are as the gulls and crows soon found out!

I'm no bird photographer, actually this is the first bird photo I've ever taken! Living in the city we don't get nice birds, but with my new lens I was blown away with the colours in this pigeon/dove's (not sure how to tell the difference!) plumage.
