No Birding this Winter for me(struggled for time/motivation etc.)
Good to finally see a Black Cap in my garden this year/Winter though. DSC_8061-copy-to-800.jpg DSC_8071-copy-to-800.jpg DSC_8077-copy-to-800.jpg

A female Black Cap in my garden, feeding in the Ivy. Its the 1st sighting of a Black Cap in my garden this Winter(seen a couple of days ago).
I shot this from my upper bedroom, leaning the lens against the window(not ideal conditions) but the light was good!

Nikon V1/nikon 1.4 teleconverter/ Nikon afs 300mm 1.4 lens.
M 1/500 F5.6 ISO 200. Handheld/Jpeg. Images are not cropped.

These are the first images taken with a secondhand 70-200 f2.8 I've just bought (with a warranty) so am hoping the poor focusing is due to me and not the lens at fault.

Yes
Sorry chaps, not a great image - wrong camera and lens combination, large crop, but at least I hope it's recognisable as a Black Winged Stilt. (Nikon D7200, AF S 16-80mm).

At Salinas y Arenales de San Pedro del Pinatar, Murcia region, Spain.

and a Merlin. Second day on the trot wacthing this master of the sky at just 1m off the ground hunt. The most awesome hunter I have ever seen, makes a Hobby look slow and a Peregrine look big and fat.
