What can you do with Elements and iPhoto?

Yes
As a Photoshop user for a number of years I often get asked what the difference between Photoshop CS* and Photoshop Elements. My normal reply is that 'Elements can do about 80-90% of what CS can do, and can do some things quicker and easier than CS, removing redeye for example, and has the benefit of easily making calendars and the like'. But I haven't used Elements since version 5 so I'm not quite sure what the differences are now.

Anyway, the reason for my post. There is a live webcast on Creativelive tonight of a workshop about Photoshop Elements 9 from 6pm - 1am UK time.

It is a two day workshop, with a third day about iPhoto.

Over the last few months I've watched a few workshops on Creativelive and found them pretty good quality. Worth a look just to pick up the odd post pro tip if nothing else. ;)

And if you're considering buying Elements, then I think you owe it to yourself to see if it is everything you expect it to be, and hopefully more, when an expert is demonstrating it.

Cheers, I'm jumping in 15 minutes late but just having a nose as i've never watched one of these live things before.

Well I watched the Creativelive webcast last night and I was impressed by Lesa Snider, who obviously knew what she was doing. I picked up a few general Photoshop tips, which was nice.

I was also impressed by what I've seen Elements 9 can do so far.

She said she can emulate almost everything CS* can do. It is getting more advanced tonight. So hopefully we'll see what Elements can do.

It is being replayed now if you want to have a look before today's webcast at 6pm.

Did you watch the iphoto bit?

It's pretty basic really, iphoto is my library and you can perform edits like crop, change to black & white, boost colours, remove blemishes, straighten and also tweak curves a little

There's a whole day for iPhoto on Thursday. So hopefully she will go into depth on what you can do with that program.

I think iPhoto was only mentioned last night as an organiser in passing showing something else in Elements.

I don't have a Mac so I don't think I'll watching too much on Thursday other for curiosity. :)
