What car do you drive?

Look forward to the pictures ;)

Here you go.

Branding will be off but I'll try something a little more creative when I'm 'out and about' (y)

Not a car as such but my bike :) I have a boring mondeo 2.0 TDCI with 175k on it but this is my fun machine which I drive all year round :)

I have an audi a3 TDi 2009 reg which I got not long ago which someone decided to drive into the back of on the way home on Monday. :bang:

Come to think, not heard much from the insurers since I reported it. Need to start the marathon job of chasing up all and sundry I suppose.

I hope they were British, I had a polish driver of an Italian Vehicle go into the back of me. 6 months on it was finally sorted.

speaking of which I still need my NC certificate resent.

Saab 9-5 Aero Turbo Edition

2.3 Turbo Automatic, 260PS and 350nm, from standstill it's quite sedate but moving it':Ds a bit of a hooligan

I have a Jaguar XF, and an Audi TT prior to that.

Gotta love the XF! Whilst I don't think it's that possible to have fun on the roads these days, it sure as hell makes it a pleasure! Half wishing I'd said "ballcocks" to the (fuel) economy and gone for the V8 rather than the 3 litre Diesel but the insurance on the petrols is rather more too, so we'll wait until my wife's MX-5 dies and (maybe) go for an XK as a replacement.

Same as before but much more fun after a Celtic stage 2 remap.

There's something quite mesmerising about seeing your car on a rolling road :) Nice improvement there BTW!

Horsey got a good thrashing the other week too.

Before and after the remap... measured at wheels. The tune was to improve low and mid range torque... I think we can safely say... mission accomplished :)

The good bit is when the rolling road operator goes into the main part of the garage and gets all the mechanics to come and watch the power run, saying "have a listen to this, 9000 revs! It's like a motorbike!"

and I have to disappoint them all by telling them it's just the engine out of a 45 year old Hillman Imp, not anything new and fancy with variable valve timing or anything like that ... and yes that smell is Castrol R40 :D

And yes, that growing puddle on the floor must have come past the Wills rings somehow! :bang: :p

[Actually I love Imps and would love a Clan even more! ;) ]

I have had a Wills ring fail once, in the Davrian on the main runway at Colerne airfield while flat out in 5th. Apparently it was all very "James Bond" with a smokescreen (or steam-screen) trailing behind the car . It was directly opposite the paddock, so plenty of amusement from the other competitors, most of whom were old enough to remember why Imp engines broke down a lot ...

The puddle on the floor of the rolling road (yes, I have done this too :bang: ) was R40. Somehow it blew the large rubber seal around the top of the oil filter and pumped the contents of the sump onto the rollers. The RR operator didn't notice the huge 21W indicator lamp on the dashboard that I use for the oil pressure warning light so I pulled the external ignition cutout. That got his attention :naughty:

First time for me on a rolling road and I was a little nervous but the difference on the test drive was amazing and I can still get 60mpg on a good run.

Yours makes much much more the nicer sound though!

That's Peter Richards car. It's really, really well put together and he competes it all over Europe. Retired due to a broken oil pump drive belt (it's dry sumped) on Sunday.

He didn't make the grid for the Saturday race either, not sure what the problem was though.

For all the self employed togs out there, how do you put your car expenses through your accounts?

Do you just go the 45p per mile route or is there an alternative way?

I'm doing about 10,000 miles per year (about 6k of that business) Just weighing up chopping my very thirsty Cooper S for a diesel 1 series (which would mean I'd need to borrow some funds)

I have a Renault Clio addiction, currently on a 182 daily and a 1.8 16v mark 1 track car for the weekend blasts and open pit lane days :)

Daily:

Weekend:

Fiat Panda Diesel

60mpg

£30 TAX

Good little car , not for posers though

And for the weekend

The only car I've sold on that I would buy back if I found it again! Mine was powder blue and a '59. Yours looks like it's had the back of the tub cut away a bit to improve access to the rear storage - as kids, my sister and I used to get sat behind the front seats on the rear axle hump when Mum had hers! 948cc of rorting fun! (Although, TBH, my wife's MX-5 is a far better car!)

I'm going to be branded as a show-off now, but here is why I call myself FourRingCircus (Audi quattros are my 'thing'). Do you get it? Four rings for the Audi logo!

I love it (and the colour)!

However, I suspect it would look so much better without the massive rally lights?

The Cibies are part of the "Rally Pack" that was an option from the Rallye Sport Network back when supplied.

(y) Must be worth a fortune by now too, a Mk1 with a decent shell ..

Are the headlights the Lucas sealed beams or have you got the Cibie Biodes with two H1 bulbs? (I used to run a set of them in my Imp, the main beam is superb, but they're so expensive now that I dare not fit them to the latest Imp in case one gets broken  )

Very possibly going to have a look at an XK8 for my wife at the weekend - just call us the Prescotts if it happens! Waiting to hear a bit more about the thing before gong up to Bath to view it and possibly bring it home.

Thanks to Lorraine at Grange for her time even though we told her up front that we probably couldn't afford (OK, wouldn't!) their prices - she looked to see if their group had ever looked after the car and what the trade price on it is. She did have a loo to see what the group had to suit but it was all about twice what we want to pay for a 2nd car. Of course, I did lay it on a little that I would be in the market for a Sportbrake version of what I currently have in a couple of years - I rather fancy a V8 petrol rather than the V6 Diesel but so far, all the ones they've sold have been Diesels. Lucky moo was fortunate enough to be sent to Estoril for the F-Type launch - nasty job but someone has to do it!!!

Just picked up a 2002 BMW Z3 M Sport Roadster with a full set of service stamps and all the add on history. Runs perfectly... but it will be gone as soon as I can get an F Type.....

They had several on the forecourt this afternoon but probably all waiting for collection after work. Even Jag owners are tight enough to wait for the 1st of the month so we don't waste too many days of tax!!!

TBH, I prefer the looks of the XK but could live with an F-Type!

Sounds like a fair swop :D

So, what'll you give me for a Y plate MX-5? (And don't say "A step-daughter." - she'll kick your nuts off!!!)
