As above really, what causes haloing? I've seen it on Photoshopped images but never on straight images, so I'm guessing it's something to do with saturation...?

Cheers

Over sharpening as Cyclone says.

Over cooked HDR.

2 images blended in photoshop. Say 2 exposures - one for sky and one for land. If care isn't taken with the eraser brush when blending a halo may result at the transition between the two layers.

Others?

I get them in Aperture when trying to recover extremely blown highlights.

Cheers guys :)

I haven't started doing any of the above yet so I should be ok, good to know though. :D
